Chris Hillman Bides Time, Plots Tour
Coinciding with the release of his first studio album in more than a decade, Byrds founder Chris Hillman has announced a coast-to-coast U.S. tour that begins in September.

Bidin’ My Time drops Sept. 22 on Rounder Records, the first solo album since 2005’s The Other Side for Hillman, whose musical pedigree runs deep as a member of The Flying Burrito Brothers, Manassas, and the Desert Rose Band.
Bidin’ My Time is produced by Tom Petty and features Byrds co-founders David Crosby and Roger McGuinn, plus Desert Rose Band alumni Herb Pedersen, who also has executive producer credit on the LP. Also appearing on the record are Petty and fellow Heartbreakers Mike Campbell, Steve Ferrone, and Benmont Tench,
Chock-full of covers as well as original music, the album will also include reworkings of Byrds staple “The Bells of Rhymney,” which appeared on Mr. Tambourine Man, “Here She Comes Again,” which had only appeared on a live album, and “She Don’t’ Care About Time,” which was the original b-side to “Turn! Turn! Turn!”
The touring, which includes former Desert Rose Band members Chris Hillman and Herb Pedersen (with John Jorgenson), begins Sept. 21 at the Sellersville Theatre in Pennsylvania. It then works its way down the East Coast from
