With organizers announcing yesterday that the Karoondinha Music & Arts festival will be put on hold, Deep Roots Mountain Revival in West Virginia is ready to welcome disappointed fans with open arms.
A statement from festival founder Claude Ryan reads: “Deep Roots Mountain Revival just learned that Karoondinha has canceled their event and we realize that it’s the ticket holders who are the ones that suffer. We never want to see another event fail, or watch the fans of the festival scene feel as though they received the short end of the stick.
“In an effort to shine a positive light back into a scene that is near and dear to our hearts, we will be honoring all Karoondinha weekend and single day passes at this year’s Deep Roots Mountain Revival.”
Deep Roots takes place over the same time period, July 20-22 on Marvin’s Mountaintop in Masontwon, W. Va. The lineup is set to feature Brandi Carlile, Dr. Dog, Lettuce, J.J. Grey & Mofro, Yonder Mountain String Band,
Karoondinha Music & Arts Festival announced yesterday via its website that the Centre Hall, Pa., event wouldn’t take place on its scheduled dates, but organizers are working to put on an alternative event.
Tickets to the Deep Roots Mountain Revival are still on sale now. You can learn more about the event on its festival page.
