Brasil Summerfest Bringing Rio To NYC

Brasil Summerfest is bringing a taste of South America to New York City, with a full lineup of Brazilian acts Aug. 5-13.

In its seventh year, most of the events at Brasil Summerfest are free and open to the public.

The artist lineup includes various venues, such as Central Park SummerStage, Nublu jazz club, Brooklyn Public Library, Brooklyn Bridge Archway, and the David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center.

Artists include Elza Soares, Liniker e Os Caremelows, O Terno, Aline Muniz, Batuque Da Lan Lanh, Rodrigo Campos, and many more.

Since 2011, Brasil Summerfest has brought artists including Seu Jorge, Bebel Gilberto, and Marcelo D2.

A crowdfunding campaign is still going and hoping to raise $15,000 before the event.

“This campaign will help us cover our operational costs and help traveling artists with various expenses,” the Indiegogo page states. “Because we are a small and independently run company, we have limited resources therefore your contributions would help us continue the great work we are set on doing.”

 Other artists playing this year’s fest include Livia Nestrovski & Fref Ferreira, Forro In The Dark, Strobo, Tim Bernardes, Eduardo Brecho, Zeabele, Teleseen, and David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center.
