Tables sit next to the Georgia Dome in Atlanta at an April 21 event announcing the venue might be replaced with a 13-acre park to host tailgating, concerts and festivals.

Decommissioning of the dome was put on hold until there were no doubts the new facility would be ready for the Falcons’ 2017 season. 

The new stadium will also be home to MLS’s Atlanta United and its first event will be a Falcons’ preseason game Aug. 26.
