Primus Books ‘Ambushing The Storm Tour’

Happy Monday to Primus fans! The band just announced dates for a North American fall tour and released the official audio for the first single from its upcoming album.

The Desaturating Seven is set for release Sept. 29 via ATO Records. Check out the track “The Seven” below, which Rolling Stone describes as “an ever-mutating epic filled with marching rhythms, jarring tempo shifts and a prog-funk groove (cleverly set in 7/8) that recalls early Eights King Crimson.”

The album was inspired by a 1978 children’s book by Italian writer/illustrator Ul de Rico called “The Rainbow Goblins.”

“I think with the way the world is right now, it’s very relevant,” frontman Les Claypool told Rolling Stone. “The notion of gluttony and those that have taking more than their share from those that don’t.”

Preorders for the album are ongoing.

The “Ambushing The Storm Tour” kicks off Oct. 20 in San Antonio at the Sunken Garden Amphitheatre.

The bulk of the tour is scheduled in late October and early to mid-November. Claypool and the guys will return to the stage in December for two nights at Los Angeles’ The Wiltern Dec. 29-30.

Cities on the routing include Austin, Cincinnati, St. Louis, Atlanta and New Orleans.

A presale, including VIP upgrade options, begins Aug. 1 at 10 a.m. Tickets go on sale to the general public Aug. 4 at 10 a.m. All times local.
