Festival Noize: Outside Lands, Lollapalooza, Flambeau, Something Wicked

Queens Of The Stone Age is forced to nix its appearance at Outside Lands … Red Bull TV has your Lollapalooza live broadcast schedule … Flambeau Fest will make its debut in October …  Something Wicked unveils its lineup.

Queens Of The Stone Age broke the news to fans this week that it won’t be making it to San Francisco’s Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival “due to injury.”

“Queens apologize for any inconvenience caused & look forward to returning to the Bay Area at a later date,” the band said in a statement. It wasn’t specified which musician suffered the injury or what type of an injury occurred.\

Cage The Elephant will be taking QOTSA’s place at the festival Aug. 12.

The 10th anniversary of the Outside Lands is scheduled Aug. 11-13 at Golden Gate Park. The lineup features Metallica, The Who, Gorillaz, Lorde, and A Tribe Called Quest.

The Thursday, Aug. 3 broadcast features Cage The Elephant starting at 6:35 p.m., Wiz Khalifa at 7:55 p.m. and Lorde at 9 p.m. on Channel 1.

Friday, Aug. 4 includes Tegan and Sara at 6:50 p.m. and Run The Jewels at 7:50 p.m. on Channel 1, Blink-182 at 8:45 p.m. on Channel 2, and Lil Uzi Vert at 7:30 p.m. and Crystal Castles at 9 p.m. on Channel 3.

Tune in Saturday, Aug. 5 to check out The Head and the Heart at 7:25 p.m. on Channel 1, Banks at 7:30 p.m. and Muse at 8:45 p.m. on Channel 2, and Kaskade at 8:50 p.m. on Channel 3.

Sunday, Aug. 6 winds down with performances from The Shins at 7:30 p.m. on Channel 1, Mac DeMarco at 7:45 p.m. on Channel 2, and DVBBS at 7:30 p.m. on Channel 3.

The annual Halloween weekend festival is happening Oct. 28-29 at Sam Houston Race Park in Houston.

Mark your calendar for Oct. 7-8 at the Lamar Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales, La.  

The festival is being produced by Covington, La-based Pi Entertainment, with Mark Miller at the helm as festival director.

“We will have some of the hottest country acts in the nation, as well as some of the most burning, emerging country artists out there,” Miller said, according to The Advocate.  “We’re also going to stack the deck in our favor with our regional acts. There’s some fantastic talent in this town.”

The lineup will be announced Aug. 7. That’s the same day tickets go on sale, starting at $119 for early-bird, two-day general admission tickets. VIP tickets will also be available.
