The Wonder Years Unplugs For Album, Tour

The Wonder Years has an acoustic EP on the way, so the band is packing up its guitars and playing a tour without the electric sounds you might be used to. Laura Stevenson, The Obsessives and Jetty Bones will support the trek.

The tours starts Sept. 24 in Detroit and runs for two weeks, ending in New York City on Oct. 8. Along the way there are stops planned in Chicago, Atlanta, Nashville and Baltimore, and the band has a show planned almost every night during the run.

Frontman Dan Campbell said the band hopes to build a close connection with the audience during this outing. “The goal of this tour is intimacy … small rooms, different song arrangements and instrumentation,” he said. “We want this to be a very unique experience for fans used to seeing us in a much different setting.”

Tickets to the affair go on sale tomorrow, Aug. 4 at 10 a.m. local time.

The new acoustic album, Burst & Decay, is available for preorder now. It comes out Sept. 22 through Hopeless Records. Check out the band’s latest single off that project, titled “There, There.”
