Dresden Dolls Pop Into Beantown

The Dresden Dolls are helping a club in their hometown celebrate 40 years of operation with a three-night stand this fall.

The group has played the venue several times over the years, and the 2005 performance was captured in a DVD special. The upcoming shows are being billed as “intimate” affairs to honor the venue.

The Dresden Dolls had been on a four-year hiatus before reuniting last year when they played a handful of shows with PWR BTTM opening. Those shows did good business, as our records show two of them moved around 70-80 percent of the tickets in medium-sized amphitheatres, grossing around $130,000 each night.

Both Brian Viglione and Amanda Palmer have been involved in various projects outside of The Dresden Dolls over the years, but neither of them seems to have any other shows booked at this time.
