AEG Takes On Management Of Uruguay Venue

AEG Facilities will manage the emerging 10,000-capacity Antel Arena in Montevideo, Uruguay.

Antel, a Uruguayan telecommunications company, selected AEG to take on management and operations duties, starting with the hiring and training of staff and planning of the grand opening in mid-2018. 

“We applaud Antel and the government of Uruguay for designing and building this great indoor arena,” AEG Facilities COO Chuck Steedman said. “Antel Arena will immediately take its place at the head of the class for indoor venues in South America and will set the standard for excellence on the continent.” 

The venue will eventually host sporting competitions, concerts, festivals, corporate events and other functions. Antel Arena’s management will be overseen by AEG’s Brazilian office, which is headed by Venancio Castro.
