Free Rap Concert Canceled By Riot

A free, all-ages concert by XXXTentacion scheduled at the 750-capacity Club Orpheum in Ybor City near Tampa Sept. 2 was canceled when thousands of fans mobbed the street outside the facility.

Dope Entertainment, promoter of the show announced a few days before, let the public know that fire officials canceled the concert because of the safety hazard caused by the crowd, according to the Tampa BayTimes.

Police were on hand to break up the crowd. Fights were said to have broken out but there were no reports of arrests. 

XXXTentacion took to social media to apologize to the fans, the Times reported.

“Tampa, my deepest apologies. I drove all the way down here, I drove four hours just to basically have the show canceled on me. Apparently because it was over capacity, there was at least 3,000 to 4,000 of you outside, and … the venue only could support 750. As far as the new free show, I’m going to try to and get a free show going, but that was the only venue that wanted to work with me, but you just bear with me, I’m going to try to work this out.”
