ETEP: Record Number Of Bookings

The European Talent Exchange Program, now in its 15th year, has for the third consecutive time generated a record number of bookings from Europe’s festivals.

Every year in January at Eurosonic Noorderslag, around 100 of Europe’s main festivals pledge to book acts that play the Dutch showcase festival.

So far this year, 411 shows by 162 acts from more than 30 countries have been confirmed. Leading the list by far is Shame from the UK, with 17 bookings, followed by Her from France and Rejjie Snow from Ireland with eight bookings each.

Alma from Finland, Thomas Azier from the Netherlands and J. Bernardt from Belgium each have seven bookings under their belts. The list of ETEP festivals includes Rock am RingHurricane/Southside, Melt!, Reeperbahn Festival, Lollapalooza Berlin and Rolling Stone Weekender from Germany, GlastonburyFestival Number 6 and The Great Escape from the UK, Rock en Seine, Mama Event and Vieilles Charrues from France, Bilbao BBK LiveBime and Primavera Pro from Spain and many more.

Coachella is the only U.S. festival participating.

Some East European partner festivals include Poland’s Krakow LiveOpen’er and Off festivals, Romania’s , Serbia’s Exit and Slovakia’s .

Also participating in ETEP are the radio stations united under the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) as well as international press partners.

Artists selected for the program are not only guaranteed festivals gigs but also media exposure. The program was launched in 2003 by the people behind Eurosonic Noorderslag.
