The four-hour concert will be broadcast on 11 TEGNA stations, with a one-hour stream internationally on YouTube.
The star-studded affair will also feature musical performances and collaborations from Lyle Lovett, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Edie Brickell & New Bohemians, Ryan Bingham, Ha*Ash and more.
Celebrity appearances will include actors Matthew McConaughey, news anchor Dan Rather, actor Renee Zellwegger, Luke Wilson, Austin Mayor Steve Adler and others.
Proceeds will benefit the Rebuild Texas Fund, created by the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation in collaboration with the OneStar Foundation. The Dells are working to raise $100 million.
“For us, this is personal,” said Susan Dell, a Texas native. Michael Dell, from Houston, added, “This fund was created to help rebuild all the communities – big and small – that have been devastated by Hurricane Harvey. We will be rebuilding for years to come.”
Charlie Sexton will serve as music director, with
TEGNA will air the event without commercial interruption across 11 Texas stations. The event is streaming in collaboration with Google, which will match the first $500,000 of donations through a pledge challenge.
