Date Set For 2017 Tidal X Concert
Following a report that Beyoncé and Jay-Z were planning to perform at a hurricane relief concert, the date and ticket onsale has been announced for the third annual Tidal X benefit show – but no mention of a lineup.
Tidal X returns to Brooklyn’s Barclays Center Oct. 17. A ticket presale began today for Tidal members. VIP packages are also available now. Tickets go on sale to the general public Sept. 26 at 12 p.m. EDT.
Tidal’s website proclaims that “all net proceeds will be donated to natural disaster relief and recovery organizations.” The event listing on Ticketmaster’s site has more details, explaining that the concert “will support nonprofit charitable organizations dedicated to disaster relief and recovery. The series of hurricanes striking Texas, Florida, and the Caribbean and the earthquake in Mexico have left many in dire need of support and services. 100 % of your donation will help address the current and ongoing needs of victims of these natural disasters.”
The previous two editions of Tidal X were both sell outs, bringing in nearly $1.2 million gross in 2016 and more than $1.1 million gross in 2015.
US Magazine reported Thursday that Beyoncé and Jay-Z would take the stage at a hurricane benefit concert at Barclays Center Oct. 17. A representative for Beyoncé denied the story, according to New York Daily News’ Peter Sblendorio.
Houston-native Beyoncé returned to the area to help out with disaster relief, as seen in a series of photos posted on her Instagram account. She also recorded a video message encouraging fans to donate to relief efforts via the Hand In Hand benefit.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z performed at the debut Tidal X, along with Prince, Usher and Nicki Minah. The 2016 event also featured Beyoncé and Minaj, as well as Alicia Keys, Ms. Lauryn Hill, and Common.
