Game Of Thrones Unveils 2018 Tour Schedule
Brace yourselves, “Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience” is coming to stages in 2018. Following the February-April 2017 excursion, dates have been set for a European tour and a second North American leg.
The tour features composer Ramin Djawadi, who created the score and music for the acclaimed HBO series, leading an orchestra and choir in performing songs from all seven seasons of the show.

Fans who already got to experience “Game of Thrones Live” earlier this year will want to get tickets once again because the 2018 edition promises new music and footage from the seventh season, as well as a new custom stage design and stunning visuals.
A review from The Guardian’s Rob LeDonne of the tour’s March 7 Madison Square Garden show gives readers a peek at the impressive production: “Wisely knowing that the whole affair would lack that essential ‘wow’ factor if it were simply an orchestral show, the producers sprinkled in as many eye candy elements that could fit on to the Garden’s massive stage to transport audiences through sight and sound to the show’s fantastical world.
He adds, “At certain points, trees grow out of the stage that later literally shed their leaves (aka confetti), a snowstorm hits with ‘flakes’ overtaking the Garden, and smoke billows to represent the war-torn lives the Thrones characters have had to endure. In addition, a massive pyrotechnics rig shoots fire into the air during key moments, the reality of the flames unmistakable as the audience actually begins to feel the heat.”
Produced and promoted by Live Nation in partnership with HBO Global Licensing, the 2018 tour kicks off May 8 in Madrid, Spain, at WiZink Center. Stops on the European routing include Paris, Berlin, Prague, Budapest, London, Copenhagen and Zurich.
The North American leg begins Sept. 5 at Vancouver’s Rogers Arena, followed by shows in San Diego, Denver, Houston, Philadelphia, Detroit, Montreal and more.
Looking at Pollstar’s box office data for the 2017 excursion, ticket sales ranged widely, depending on the market and venue configuration, from just 38 percent sold of the 14,782 tickets available at Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix to a sell out at the Air Canada Center in Toronto (the 19,800-capacity arena was capped at 10,859). Of the 23 box office reports we received, the tour sold an average of 7,494 tickets per night, with an average gross of $514,760.
An HBO presale is happening now through Sept. 28 at 10 p.m. The same goes for the Citi card member presale. Tickets for the 2018 tour go on sale to the general public Sept. 29 at 10 a.m. All times local.
