Eagles To Roost At Opry

The iconic rock act known as Eagles is set to play a private concert for SiriusXM listeners at one Nashville’s most recognizable venues later this month.

The gig will be Oct. 29 at the legendary Grand Ole Opry House. This will be the first time the act has taken the grand stage.

The lineup for Eagles will be Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit with Deacon Frey, son of co-founder Glenn Frey, and Opry member Vince Gill. The set will “feature music from the band’s extensive career as well as their solo records and influences.”

SiriusXM listeners will be able to hear the concert on a SiriusXM Eagles Channel that is launching in November. Subscribers to the satellite radio service can throw their names into a digital hat to try and win a trip to the event, which includes airfare, hotel and tickets.

Eagles do have other shows on the books this month, the next of which is at Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, N.C., Oct. 17. After that there are two nights locked in at Atlanta’s Philips Arena, one at KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Ky., and one at the brand spankin’ new Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.

The big news for Eagles fans in 2017 was the Classic West and Classic East events in Los Angeles and New York with Fleetwood Mac, Steely Dan, Journey and others. There was also a Classic Northwest shindig with Doobie Brothers.
