Post-Vegas Concert Changes Continue
Cake has postponed two concerts in response to the Las Vegas shooting, while Country Rising has pushed back its ticket onsale. With more changes and cancellations expected to be confirmed, Pollstar will update this post if necessary.
Cake’s Oct. 4 gig at Eccles Center For The Performing Arts in Park City, Utah, has been rescheduled for Feb. 16. The band has also moved its Oct. 5 show at Las Vegas’ Cosmopolitan to Feb. 17.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the families and friends of all victims as well as the entire Las Vegas community. Tickets for the Salt Lake City and Las Vegas shows will be valid for the rescheduled February 2018 concert dates. Refunds are available for ticket holders not able to attend the rescheduled dates. #VegasStrong,” the band said in a statement on Facebook.

Country Rising is waiting to put tickets on sale for its hurricane relief benefit concert. The Nov. 12 event at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena includes Jason Aldean, who was performing at Route 91 Harvest Festival on Sunday when a gunman opened fire on the crowd at the Las Vegas Village festival grounds.
“In light of the horrific tragedy in Las Vegas and out of respect for its victims, we have postponed the on-sale for Country Rising originally scheduled for this Friday. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected,” Country Rising posted on its website today.
The lineup for the benefit also includes Dierks Bentley, Garth Brooks, Sam Hunt, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, Chris Stapleton, George Strait and Carrie Underwood.
Funds raised will help relief and recovery efforts for people affected by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, Maria and Jose.
A new ticket onsale hasn’t been announced yet.
Previously announced cancellations include Aldean’s weekend concerts, Jennifer Lopez’s Las Vegas residency shows, and Monday’s Cirque Du Soleil events in Vegas. Aldean said in a statement yesterday that he plans to resume his tour Oct. 12 at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Okla.
Austin City Limits Festival announced yesterday that it was taking the unprecedented gesture of offering refunds for those feeling uncomfortable attending outdoor events.
Sunday’s massacre at the Route 91 Harvest festival killed at least 59 and injured more than 525 people – the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history.
