MSG’s Jules Manning Moves To Boston

Jules Manning is The Boch Center’s new vice president and managing director of booking, and will lead the charge in securing new music, comedy, dance and variety arts, as well as Broadway shows, at the Wang and Shubert Theatres in Boston, the venue announced Oct. 10.

Manning isn’t an entirely new face at Boch Center, having managed programming and artist relations for Madison Square Garden Company’s venues that include the Wang Theatre.

 “We are delighted to welcome Jules Manning to the Boch Center team,” said Josiah A. Spaulding, Jr., president & CEO of the Boch Center. “With extensive experience in the entertainment industry, I am confident Jules will help increase our overall booking activity and help the Center continue to provide the Greater Boston community with diverse programming, representing artists of all genres.”

During Manning’s tenure in New York City, she booked hundreds of shows and developed a Tedeschi Trucks residency at the 2,829-capacity Beacon Theatre – selling a reported 386,816 tickets and pushing that venue into Pollstar’s Top 10-grossing theatres worldwide last year.

“I’m thrilled to join Joe and the entire team at the Boch Center. For me, this new adventure is not only a homecoming to my beloved city of Boston; it is an opportunity to work with a great team and cultivate growth at two of the city’s most revered and beautiful venues, the Wang and Shubert Theatres. The icing on the cake may just be the chance I will have to pay it forward by working with the Boch Center’s non-profit efforts to reach underserved communities through its diverse mix of educational and community outreach initiatives,” Manning said.

Manning was also part of a team the produced “From The Big Apple To The Big Easy: The Concert For New Orleans,” which helped raise $8 million.

Prior to joining Madison Square Company Co., she worked at Sony Music in both the college marketing and Columbia Records marketing departments.
