More than 19,500 guests attended the arena’s sing-along event “Kölle singt” (“Cologne sings”), Oct. 1. The next edition, which is scheduled for Sept. 30, 2018, has already sold 8,000 tickets.

From Oct. 3-8, German superstar Helene Fischer played five sold-out shows at Laxess Arena, each with a capacity of around 16,000, amounting to more than 80,000 visitors in total.

With demand for Helene Fischer remaining unabated, she’ll play two extra gigs in January. A spokesperson of Lanxess Arena told Pollstar that the venue has welcomed more than 100,000 visitors in one week in the past, albeit only during major sports events such as the ice hockey world cups in 2010 and 2017 as well as the 2007 handball world cup.

The beginning of October marked a new record in terms of attendance at entertainment events only.
