Major & Many Promotions At LA Live

Staples Center / L.A. Live in Los Angeles announced a sweeping number of promotions to the organization, including five members of Lee Zeidman’s longtime executive management team.

“I feel incredibly fortunate to work with an amazing group of individuals who together make up the team that helps operate Staples Center, Microsoft Theater and L.A. Live,” Zeidman, president of those AEG facilities and the inclusive campus of L.A. Live, said in a statement. “We are incredibly fortunate to have some of the industry’s leading executives working for us and I could not be more proud of the executive management team that I get to work with day in and day out.”

Christy Castillo Butcher has been with STAPLES Center since September 1999. Her roles have included Event Manager, Director of Event Services and most recently Vice President of Booking and Events for both STAPLES Center and Microsoft Theater. With her new title of Senior Vice President of Booking and Events, Castillo Butcher will oversee marketing, communications and event booking for both venues.

Others promoted from the executive team are Laura Geery-Larson (senior VP of telecommunications and IT), Wade Loewe (senior VP, broadcast/multimedia productions), Matt Rosenfeld (senior VP of sales) and Michele Kajiwara (senior VP, premium sales and services).

Staples promoted 13 other positions, notably Jen Sandstrom to VP of booking and events. Sandstrom and her department will oversee all sporting events, concerts, family shows and all special events and corporate events.

Cara Vanderhook has been promoted to VP, marketing and communications and will oversee all aspects of marketing, communications and social media for Staples and Microsoft Theatre.

Kathy Montoya has been promoted to Director, Events and will be responsible for the management of an event once it has been booked until completion.
