A plea agreement will allow Gray to withdraw his guilty plea, and prosecutors to drop the charges, if he abides by the 22-point agreement, including no contact with plaintiff Erica Cole, for a year, the Press-Herald reported.
Waterfront Concerts stages shows in Portland at Maine State Pier and Bangor at Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion.
Gray was facing trial in a few days until his lawyer and prosecutors made the deal on the misdemeanor charge stemming from an argument that became physical. He faced up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $2,000 if convicted.
Cole spoke to the judge and described an abusive relationship with Gray in which she claimed he tried to control her every move. Gray, in turn, admitted he had caused the pair to fall to the floor when Cole tried to leave Gray’s condo and he grabbed for her keys during the argument. But he denied becoming violent, according to the Press-Herald.
