Swedish Babel Nightclub Hit By Another Explosion

An explosion on the night of Nov. 2 struck Babel nightclub in Malmö, Sweden, almost exactly a year after a similar incident occurred.

Like with last year’s explosion, the only damage was done to property, mainly the club’s main door. Reportedly no one was injured as the club was closed at the time, just after 12:30 a.m. local time.

Witnesses reported seeing a moped driving away from the scene just after the incident. Police are currently investigating. It is yet unclear what kind of explosive device was used.

Malmö police spokesman Nils Norling said that authorities currently treated both explosions as separate incidents.

Babel this year has hosted shows by artists including Timber Timbre, Cloud Nothings, and Helmet.
