It was discovered 10 days before when an inspection of an under-age show found that a licence allowing under-18s had been wrongly issued six years ago.
Club owner Peter Campbell said he would not be able to get a special clearance.
Promoter Frontier Touring moved the third show to The Bruce Mason Centre in Takapuna as an all-ages show, Lorde tweeted she was “so bummed out” that younger fans could not attend, offering those who asked for refunds some merchandising.
Lorde’s Melodrama World Tour now heads to Australia, with six open air shows beginning November 18 at the Kings Park & Botanic Garden in Perth. It is followed by two dates, November 21 and 22 at the Sydney Opera House Forecourt.
The singer, whose “Green Light” single is approaching triple platinum in Australia (and 1 billion global streams) is then at Riverstage in Brisbane (23), the Spilt Music festival in Canberra (25) and Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne (26).
On November 13, she was announced as a last minute addition as performer at the Australian music industry’s most high profile awards, the November 28 ARIAs at Star Event Centre in Sydney which will be broadcast on the free-to-air Nine Network.
