Faster Horses Attendee Sues Live Nation & Venue Over Injury
An attendee of the 2016 Faster Horses Country Fest is blaming Live Nation and officials with the Michigan International Speedway for a broken right ankle she sustained after falling in a ditch.
A lawsuit filed in Lenawee County Circuit Court said Brandi L. Roe is seeking unspecified damages for pain and suffering and legal fees, according to the Daily Telegram.
The complaint alleges the promoter and festival organizers were at fault for not marking a drainage ditch so it could be seen. The ditch wasn’t visible because of “foliage and darkness” and Roe said she fell several feet, resulting in surgery and permanent scarring.
Live Nation disputes the claim, saying in the filing there was no way to know that anyone would be walking through the wooded area and the hazard was “open and “obvious,” the Telegram reported
A Live Nation representative told Pollstar the company does not typically comment on ongoing litigation.
A pretrial conference is set for July 13.
