More Security For Dead & Company
When Dead & Company take the stage at XL Center in Hartford, Conn., Nov. 22 there will be a beefed-up presence of police because of a threat posted on Facebook.
Deputy Police Chief Brian Foley told the Hartford Courant that citizens alerted his department to the Facebook post by suspect Randu Blanchette, who Foley said has a history of making threats, claiming he would bring a gun to the concert and shoot people. Detectives are investigating further.

“We want our visitors to know they are safe and to feel welcomed,” Foley told the paper. “Patrons will see many uniformed officers inside and outside the venue. HPD undercover detectives will also be conducting covert operations throughout the area as well.”
XL Center GM Chris Lawrence told the Courant that concertgoers are encouraged to arrive earlier to allow extra time for the security screening process.
“We’re aware of the situation and have been working closely with the proper law enforcement authorities to ensure the appropriate measures and procedures are in place to safeguard all guests,” Lawrence said.
