NYC Anti-Dancing Law Repealed
As expected, New York Mayor Bill de Blasio signed legislation repealing a more than 90-year-old law that banned dancing at nightclubs.

“Nightlife is part of the New York melting pot that brings people together,” de Blasio said, adding that the law, which banned dancing in bars and restaurants that lacked a cabaret license “didn’t make sense.”
Critics said the law being as a racist attempt to police Harlem clubs in the 1920s.
Nightlife advocates hailed the repeal, which takes effect 30 days from Nov. 27.
