Dead & Company Reschedules Shows
Dead & Company makes good on its promise to reschedule three missed shows due to John Mayer’s emergency appendectomy.
Jay Blakesberg – Dead & Company
Dead & Company packs the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles May 31.
But fans in New Orleans, Orlando and Sunrise, Fla., will have to wait a couple of months to experience the band made up of Mayer plus Grateful Dead veterans Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann along with Oteil Burbridge and Jeff Chimenti.
News of Mayer’s unexpected encounter with a surgeon’s scalpel arrived Tuesday morning. At that time the band had only postponed that evening’s gig at New Orleans’ Smoothie King Center.
By Wednesday Dead & Company had postponed the remaining two dates on the band’s fall run – Sunrise at BB&T Center and Orlando at Amway Center.
Now the band’s back on track with an appendix-less Mayer. The fact that the band does stellar box office should put smiles on promoters’ faces. The band’s average gross per appearance during the past two years has been $1,647,090. Those stats also include an average 80 percent tickets sold for all shows reported since 2015 and a total U.S. gross reported of $87,295,779.
Here are the rescheduled dates:
Feb. 24 – New Orleans, Smoothie King Center
Feb. 26 – Sunrise, Fla., BB&T Center
Feb. 27 – Orland, Fla., Amway Center
Tickets purchased for the original shows will be honored on the new dates. Refunds are available at points of purchase.
