Exploring The Bermuda Triangle
Harvey Hale – Bermuda Triangle
You will want to lose yourself in the musical enchantment of Bermuda Triangle, the Nashville-based trio made up of Alabama Shakes frontwoman Brittany Howard, Becca Mancari and Jesse Lafser.
Embodying the same easy-flowing stylings reminiscent of Fleetwood Mac songs like “Landslide” and “Sentimental Lady,” Bermuda Triangle is impossible to ignore. Rolling Stone described a performance as “a pitch-perfect, harmony-heavy set of blithe and breezy heartfelt folk tunes that filled the sweltering room with chill vibes,” and noted that the group’s chemistry “was clear from the first applause-silencing note.”
But the critical acclaim directed at Bermuda Triangle shouldn’t surprise anyone who is familiar with the three ladies. Of course, Howard is best known for her blues-belting excellence with Alabama Shakes. Mancari’s debut album, Good Woman, was selected by Rolling Stone as one of the top American/Country albums of the past year, and Lafser’s follow-up to her 2015 Raised On The Plains album, is planned for early 2018.
Bermuda Triangle’s first bit of roadwork in 2018 has the band doing a West Coast run beginning Feb. 3 in West Hollywood and ending seven days later in Eugene, Ore. The trio heads to Texas in April for gigs in Houston, Austin and Dallas, with Liz Cooper & The Stampede supporting.
