Winter is the perfect season to think about 5 Seconds Of Summer and the Australian band’s tour of North America – a 26-date road trip that kicks off in Boston in early April and wraps in San Francisco later that month.
But that late April show at the famous Fillmore won’t be the end of the lads’ travels. Shows in Singapore, Mexico City and Sao Paulo, Brazil, follow the band’s run across the U.S. and Canada.
News of the new tour arrives the same week the band premiered it’s latest single, “Want You Back.” Word is a proper music video will be released shortly.
The North American tour follows the band’s brief journey through Europe that begins March 20 in Stockholm, Sweden, and concludes April 5 in London.
5 Seconds Of Summer’s last North American adventure was a 2016 June-September tour that played mostly amphitheatres and arenas. Shows reported to Pollstar added up to 338,451 tickets sold for a $17.7 million total gross. Average tickets sold per show was just under 8,000 with nightly grosses averaging $412,020.
“Finally … It’s been 3 years since our last album and we are so ready to share new music with the world,” the band said in a statement. “After spending the last 5 years on the road since the age of 16, it was important we took time to reflect as individuals and now we’re coming back stronger and more unified than ever. These songs mean the world to us and we have held nothing back in writing and recording this album. We’ve been rehearsing a lot of the new songs live and can’t wait to get back out on tour to connect with our incredible fans.”
Fans can register now through Feb. 27 at 10 p.m. Eastern time for free access to the Ticketmaster Verified Fan presale that begins March 2 at 10 a.m. and runs until 10 p.m. that evening (both times local). General onsales begin March 3. Follow this link for Pollstar’s 5 Seconds Of Summer page.
