50 Cent Never Had 50 Bitcoins

It turns out 50 Cent’s get rich or die tryin’ scheme may not have included Bitcoins, as court documents show the rapper never bought the cryptocurrency as other outlets previously reported.

The documents, filed in bankruptcy court as the rapper reorganizes his finances, were shared by The Blast.

The rapper has reportedly never owned any bitcoin and, while he did accept bitcoins as payment for the Animal Ambition album, they were converted to dollars immediately by another party.

50 said in the documents he hadn’t spoken up sooner publicly because “As a general matter, so long as a press story is not irreparably damaging to my image or brand, I usually do not feel the need to publicly deny the reporting. This is particularly true when I feel the press report in question is favorable to my image or brand, even if the report is based on a misunderstanding of the facts or contains outright falsehoods.”
