New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Fairgrounds Racecourse, New Orleans, La.
Paul Simon locks down the final leg of his swan song adventure. Newly announced September gigs include New Orleans, Orlando, Atlanta and Pittsburgh before closing with three nights in New York.
News of Simon’s one last road trip emerged in January when Simon’s appearance at British Summer Time at London’s Hyde Park was announced as the legendary troubadour’s “farewell performance.”
Simon announced his touring plans two weeks later, designating May and June for North America followed by European dates.
The final leg begins Set. 5 at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. While the Sept. 20-22 shows for New York list Madison Square Garden Arena for the first two nights, the third evening’s venue is listed as TBA.
Box office results reported to Pollstar for Simon’s brief 2017 North American run include a night at Chicago’s Huntington Bank Pavilion @ Northerly Island where he sold 7,127 tickets and grossed $474,969 for an evening’s work. Sell-out shows on last year’s tour include a late June performance at Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena At Harveys in Stateline, Nevada, where more than 7,100 fans purchased tickets, resulting in a $632,751 gross.
Genera onsales begin March 16. Keep checking Pollstar’s Paul Simon page for more information.
