Outlaw Music Festival Returns With Willie, Sturgill, Elvis and More

Willie Nelson & Family, Sturgill Simpson, Elvis Costello & The Imposters, and Alison Krauss are just a few of the artists appearing on this year’s Outlaw Music Festival Tour, kicking off in Raleigh, N.C., in late May.
The tour also includes Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, The Head And The Heart, Old Crow Medicine Show, Ryan Bingham, Edie Brickell & New Bohemians, Lukas Nelson & Promise Of The Real, The Wild Feathers, JD McPherson, Delta Rae, and Particle Kid. Expect more artists to be announced.
So far, nine stops have been announced, listing Nelson & Family on all dates while Simpson is listed on all stops but one. In other words, lineups may vary depending on markets.
But here’s the plan as it stands today:

“We had so much fun on the Outlaw Music Tour last year that we decided to do it again,” Willie Nelson said. “See y’all out on the road this summer.”
With a lineup that included Willie Nelson and The Avett Brothers, as well as Sheryl Crow, Particle Kid and Blackberry Smoke on select dates, 2017’s Outlaw Music Festival saw varying ticket sales per stop. For example, of the shows reported to Pollstar, the tour sold 10,545 tickets for the 12,000-plus seat Pavilion at Montage Mountain in Moosic, Pa., for a final gross just under $600,000. However, the tour’s stop at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, N.J., was a different story with 3,846 tickets sold of the 12,436 available, grossing $169,757.
