Summer just got a little more interesting as Godsmack and Shinedown reveal details for the bands’ co-headlining romp across the land.  Like A Storm and Red Sun Rising support on select dates.

Not all of the dates announced today are new.  As part of Live Nation’s Ticket To Rock offering, where fans can buy one ticket covering several concerts at the same venue, some shows were announced weeks ago, like July 27 at Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in Tinley Park, Ill., and Aug. 4 at FivePoint Amphitheare in Irvine, Calif.

But shows like July 31 at Pepsi Center in Denver and Aug. 8 at Providence Medical Center Amphitheater are newly issued.

Both bands are bringing new music to the tour.  Godsmack’s first album in four years, When Legends Rise, arrives April 27 and will mark the band’s debut on BMG.  You may have already heard the newly released “Bulletproof.”

Shinedown’s new album, Attention Attention will drop May 4 on Atlantic Records.  Lead single “Devil” is out now.

With new music to play and a coast-to-coast summer tour, you can bet both bands are excited about what’s to come.

“We really believe this could be a great moment in our band’s career and we plan on running on the road until at least fall of 2019,” Godsmack’s Sully Erna said in a statement.  “We love the guys in Shinedown and we all go way back.  There is a very strong mutual respect between our camps and we fell that this tour is going to be a must see!”

“It’s all about impact, and making a statement,” Shinedown lead singer Brent Smith said.  “We are creating a show for the fans that is powerful, passionate, and sonically inspiring.  The audience has given us a platform to be ourselves, and create something spectacular.  That being said Shinedown, and Godsmack will most certainly not let them down.  This will be the rock ’n’ roll event of the year.  In other words, it’s about to get heavy!!!”

Having spent much of the first half of 2017 touring Europe with Iron Maiden, Shinedown returned to the U.S. where the band played several sold-out shows.  Boxoffice data submitted to Pollstar include July 9 at Morris Performing Arts Center in South Bend, Ind., where the band sold 2,408 tickets for an evening’s gross reaching $100,176.

Godsmack toured with Red Sun Rising supporting in 2015.  Submitted boxoffice data includes a sold-out gig at The Wilma in Missoula, Mont., where fans purchased 1,400 tickets resulting in a $59,000 gross.  The band’s concert at the William Saroyan Theatre in Fresno that year sold just over half the house and moved 1,360 out of 2,319 tickets, grossing $65,868.

Presales for several shows begin March 20 with general onsales launching March 23.  Follow Pollstar’s pages Godsmack and Shinedown for updates.
