Fans waiting for Aerosmith’s next tour may have to wait a little longer.  That’s because frontman Steven Tyler has lined up a solo tour in North America and Europe.

But “solo” doesn’t mean the voice of “Sweet Emotion,” “Walk This Way” and “Dream On” will appear on stage alone.  He’ll have Nashville’s Loving Mary Band backing him and The Sisterhood Band, whose members include Rod Stewart’s daughter Ruby Stewart, and Alyssa Bonagura who is the daughter of Baillie & The Boys founders Kathie Ballie and Michael Bonagura, appearing on select dates.

Evidently Tyler is exploring his country music stylings on this tour. The singer released his solo album, We’re All Somebody From Somewhere, in July 2016.  First single off of the L.P. was “Love Is Your Name.”

Aerosmith’s 2017 run through Europe was named “Aero-Vederci Baby! Tour,” implying that it was the band’s last rumble across the continent.  Fans anxiously waited for news of Aerosmith touring North America but so far the only date the band has committed to is May 5 at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.  Tyler’s tour begins one month later in Lewiston, N.Y.

But it’s a short tour, so far consisting of eight shows in North America and seven gigs spread across Europe and the U.K.  Euro destinations include Madrid, Rome and London, and North American locales include New York, Detroit and Calgary.

Tyler’s solo boxoffice action shows he can sell tickets even when Aerosmith stays home.  Data submitted to Pollstar shows him grossing well into six figures.  He sold out the H.E.B. Performance Hall at the Tobin Center in San Antonio where he moved 1,738 tickets and grossed $410,422.  Tyler showed off his country side with the gig at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium in 2016 where he sold 2,143 out of 2,352 tickets and grossed $253,821.

Tickets for Tyler’s solo tour go on sale March 21.
