Leon Bridges Has Your ‘Good Thing’
Jay Blakesberg – Leon Bridges
Leon Bridges goes for the high note during the Monterey International Pop Festival 50 at Monterey County Fairgrounds in California June 16.
Leon Bridges’ “Good Thing Tour” begins in August in Colorado and doesn’t end until he rolls into New York City the first week of October.
You might have guessed from the tour name what Bridges is calling his new album. Good Thing lands in stores May 4.
Bridges has one lone June gig on his calendar – a performance at The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory in Irving, Texas, June 9, that also includes Jon Batiste and Stay Human.
The bulk of the “Good Thing Tour” runs Aug. 9 at Red Rocks Amphitheatre near Denver through Oct. 6 at New York’s Radio City Music Hall. Stops along the way include Chastain Park Amphitheatre in Atlanta, Ga.; Greek Theatres in Los Angeles and Berkeley, Calif.; RBC Echo Beach in Toronto, and Fox Theatre in Detroit.
Support includes Masego and Khruangbin appearing together and separately on select dates.
Bridges last extensive headlining outing was in 2016. Data submitted to Pollstar shows the singer rarely drawing less than 90 percent capacity with several sold-out shows in his history. His gig at Filene Center at Wolf Trap sold all 6,874 tickets and grossed $257,765. However, attendance for his gig at Memorial Stadium in Boise, Idaho, sold 2,085 out of 3,000 available tickets and grossed $58,728.
Tickets for most shows on the “Good Thing” tour go on sale March 30. Keep checking Pollstar’s Leon Bridges page for updates.
