AEG Presents Unveils Mission Ballroom In Denver
Chuck Morris, CEO of AEG Presents Rocky Mountains, spent more than a decade searching for the “perfect location and the right design” to build his dream Denver venue, and veteran concert promoter announced today that he has found it.

Upping the ante in an already robust entertainment market, the Mission Ballroom is expected to open in summer 2019 and be a scaleable, 60,000-square-foot concert space anchoring North Wynkoop, a new 14-acre mixed use development in Denver’s RiNo neighborhood.
“Our entire AEG Presents Rocky Mountain team spent the last 11 years searching for the perfect location and the right design to build one of the finest venues this town has ever seen,” Morris said in a statement. “With features including a moving stage that provides The Mission flexible capacity from 2,200 to 3,950 guests, unrivaled sight lines and state-of-the-art sound and lights, The Mission will bring Colorado the most cutting-edge concert experience in the world.”
The venue will feature tiered rows with unobscured views and sight lines at every level, a large dance floor that allows standing or seating, and full-service bars placed at convenient locations to maximize flow and efficiency, as well as the fan experience.
“We blended the ballroom experience on the floor with a tiered-riser configuration similar to Red Rocks Amphitheater,” added Don Strasburg, co-president for AEG Presents Rocky Mountains. “Beyond offering incredible sight lines, this design creates the finest sonic experience that Colorado concertgoers expect and deserve.”
AEG Presents Rocky Mountains is partnering with Westfield Company on the project, which will be the cornerstone of what is envisioned as a “transformative” development in Denver’s RiNo arts and entertainment district, and will include 90,000 square feet of under-construction office and retail space, as well as another 80,000 square feet of renovated warehouse space being converted into “synergistic” restaurants, bars and retail space with potential for an addition 1 million square feet of housing, hotel and other commercial uses.
“We’re so excited with the vision that Westfield Company has for North Wynkoop. The Brighton Boulevard corridor and the entire River North area is exploding with vibrancy. This location is a perfect fit for The Mission Ballroom with parking, easy access to light rail, and only a stone’s throw from downtown, it is the right place for us to be,” said Brent Fedrizzi, co-president and COO of AEG Presents Rocky Mountains, in a statement.
AEG Presents Rocky Mountains currently produces shows at several Denver-area concert venues, including Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre (16,823 capacity), 1stBank Center (7,000), Bluebird Theater, Ogden Theatre (1,600), Gothic Theatre(1,000), and in open venues including Red Rock Amphtheater (9,525).
Live Nation recently announced exclusive booking deals at the Summit Music Hall (1,000) and Marquis Theater (500), and operates the Fillmore (3,750). It goes head to head with AEG Presents at Red Rocks and other venues, and just last week announced the new Seven Peaks country music festival. In addition, Superfly Presents also recently announced Grandoozy, another huge festival, on the nearby Overland Park Golf Course to underscore the region’s competitive market.
