“Guitarist Eddie Reyes and Taking Back Sunday have parted ways due to personal reasons,” the band released in a statement dated April 13.  “Eddie was a founding member of the band and his contributions can be felt all along the way. John, Shaun, Mark and Adam love Eddie, wish him well in his future endeavors and look forward to hitting the road soon, starting in Mexico on April 26 and traveling to the UK and Germany in late May. After that they will spend the summer touring the US with long-time friends Coheed and Cambria.”

Although no specifics were given for the split, there’s plenty of light reading to be had on the band’s social media comments sections.

Taking Back Sunday, which formed in Long Island in 1999, joins Coheed and Cambria in July for a lengthy summer tour amphitheatre tour taking in venues including Ascend Amphitheatre in Nashville, Pier Six Pavilion in Baltimore, Armory in Minneapolis and the Greek Theatre in Berkeley.

Recent boxoffice reports submitted to Pollstar from the band include Dec. 15-16 at Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, N.J., which sold out a combined 4,400 tickets and grossed $146,500, and Stage AE in Pittsburgh Aug. 16, which sold 2,121 tickets and grossed $58,328.
