Launching in Fresno, Calif., J Balvin’s “Vibras Tour Powered By Buchanan’s Whisky” includes Oakland, Houston, Chicago, Boston, Brooklyn and Nashville among its destinations.
Embedding his tour sponsor’s name in the outing’s title, the multi-platinum Latin performer will be touring in support of his new Vibras album, scheduled to drop May 25.
But Buchanan’s Whisky isn’t the only corporate entity backing Balvin. Joining as the tour’s official automotive sponsor is Toyota, marking the second time the auto manufacturer has joined forces with the Colombian entertainer.
Arenas play a major role in Balvin’s game plan. Beginning Sept. 19 at Fresno’s Selland Arena, stops on the Live Nation-produced tour include the Forum in Inglewood, Calif.; Don Haskins Center in El Paso; Pepsi Center in Denver and Agganis Arena in Boston.
Balvin’s touring history shows the artist selling out his shows in cities with large Latin populations, such as Miami and New York. His Sept. 16 gig at Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden in NYC sold all 5,276 tickets and grossed $385,456. The Oct. 13 concert at AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami sold 8,311 tickets and grossed $581,785.
As the tour’s official credit card, Citi will launch a presale beginning April 24 at 10 a.m. and running until April 26 at 10 p.m.
General onsales kick off April 27 at 10 a.m. Visit Pollstar’s J Balvin page for developments.
