“Exile On Bourbon St.” is a Blackbird Presents production with the company’s CEO Keith Wortman serving as creator and executive producer while producer Don Was handles music direction.  Was is very familiar with the source material, having remixed the original album for its 2010 re-release.

Blackbird Presents has been the driving force behind tributes such as the Little Feat-inspired “New Orleans Waiting For Columbus” as well as for “The Last Waltz New Orleans: A Celebration Of The 40th Anniversary Of The Last Waltz.”

How do these kinds of shows play out at the box office?  Data submitted to Pollstar for the 2017 tour celebrating the 40th anniversary of The Band’s “Last Waltz” concert and album shows sold-out and near-capacity audiences.  For example, when the “The Last Waltz 40 Tour” played the Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, Fla., the ticket count was 1,506 out of 1,799 for a $125,386 night’s gross.

Tickets for “Exile On Bourbon St.” are on sale now.
