Celebrating her 25th anniversary box set commemorating her Exile In Guyville debut album, Liz Phair has added an Autumn leg to her 2018 touring plans. New dates going on sale this week include shows in Louisville, Detroit, Brooklyn, Montreal, Minneapolis, Los Angeles, Milwaukee and San Francisco.
It’s been 25 years since Phair unleashed Exile In Guyville to an unsuspecting world. The album became an early benchmark in the feminist punk movement as Phair’s songs described heartbreaks, relationships gone wrong and sexual angst from a woman’s point of view, and helped set a new direction for indie rock.
While the box set commemorating the debut LP – Girly-Sound To Guyville: The 25th Anniversary Box Set – is already on store shelves and digital distribution outlets, Capitol Records has announced it will reissue Whip-Smart and Whitechocolatespaceegg, as well as her 2003 self-titled album on vinyl, June 8.
Called “Amps On The Lawn,” the September-October run launches at Variety Playhouse in Atlanta Sept. 6 and concludes at Turner Hall Ballroom in Milwaukee Oct. 12. The tour brings Phair back to cities where her upcoming June shows instantly sold out plus major markets across the Midwest, South and East Coast.
Presales for the new dates, meet-&-greet experiences include a ticket to the show, access to soundcheck, and, of course, an opportunity to snap a selfie with Phair.
General onsales launch May 18. Keep eyeballing Pollstar’s Liz Phair artist page for updates.
