Indie Merger: 35 Concerts Joins Red Tail Entertainment; Marc Engel Named President
Texas-based concert promoter Red Tail Entertainment has announced the merging of fellow Texas promoter 35 Concerts that will see the two operate as Red Tail Entertainment with 35 Concerts president Marc Engel now president.
Phil Drayer will continue as CEO of Red Tail Entertainment, where he has produced and presented concerts throughout North America ranging from Broadway musicals to family shows and concerts.
The company will consist of a presenting division called Red Tail Live! as well as a producing division called Red Tail Productions.
Current shows listed by Red Tail include Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, “4U A Symphonic Celebration of Prince” and Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox.

Engel is a performing arts veteran with over 30 years of experience in the management and programming of theatres and performing arts centers. His career includes time at Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth, Texas, the AT&T Performing Arts Center in Dallas and the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach, Fla.
35 Concerts over the last 10 years has produced shows in more than 60 cities. Recent boxoffice reports from shows presented by 35 Concerts include Willie Nelson at Owensboro Convention Center in Kentucky April 17 (2,161 tickets sold, $173,431 grossed), Tony Bennett at Altria Theatre in Richmond, Va., (2,222, $195,507), and two shows of Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood at Bass Concert Hall in Austin, Texas, which grossed $120,00 Feb. 24.
Kelsey Young will serve as vice president and talent buyer, USA East, of Red Tail Live! while Deborah Barr is GM of Red Tail Productions and oversees the day to day business and operation of their current shows, Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo Live and Erth’s Prehistoric Aquarium Adventure.
