Detroit’s Majestic Theatre To Get $1M Renovation

AEG Presents is joining forces with The Majestic Theatre in Detroit to bring new life to one of the city’s most historic venues.

AEG Presents will bring up the number of concerts at the 105-year-old venue, according to a May 22 announcement.

The venue is also to receive improvements estimated to cost $1 million, including restoration of the façade and upgrades to the stage, the in-venue café, and the concert hall itself. There will also be a new box office and lobby bar, upgraded restrooms, electrical improvements and restored ceilings and sound systems..

“We’re very excited to be part of the restoration of such a historic and famed music venue in Detroit,” Jason Rogalewski, AEG Presents VP of talent said in a statement. “The Majestic is a celebrated club that we’ve all enjoyed seeing amazing performances at throughout the years.  Our team looks forward to promoting over 100 concerts a year at the legendary theater and helping to continue its time-honored status as concert venue in the market.”

Some of The Majestic Theatre’s most recent box office reports include Ty Dolla $ign on March 13, who sold 707 tickets for a $21,352 gross and Travis Greene Feb. 18, who grossed $19,100 on 940 tickets. The venue’s next scheduled performance at press time was Trippie Redd, May 24, followed by King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard June 11.
