Honorees Announced For Innovation in Music Awards

 The 2018 Innovation in Music Awards honorees include Red Light Management’s Coran Capshaw, Opry Entertainment’s Sally Williams, and Kenny Chesney in the creative/artist category.
The second annual awards gala, recognizing “achievements in the advancement of music through inspiration and ingenuity,” is scheduled June 3 at Nashville’s Westin Hotel.   
Capshaw, founder and CEO of Red Light Management, is being celebrated as the Innovator of the Year.
Williams is being honored in the executive category. She is the senior vice president of programming and artist relations for Opry Entertainment and the general manager of the Grand Ole Opry, as well as the VP/GM of Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. 
The other honorees include Joe Galante, Mayor’s Music City Council, CMA foundation chair and former chairman Sony Nashville, for the impact in innovation award; Monica Escobedo, Entertainment Producer, ABC News, Good Morning America, in the broadcast category; Nate Deaton, general Manager at KRTY San Jose, for radio programming; John Marks, Spotify global editor for country music, for digital media/marketing; and Ed Warm, owner of Joe’s on Weed Street & Smokeout Fest in Chicago, for live performance. 
The honorees are determined by a committee of music professionals. Performers for the awards gala will be announced soon. 
The ceremony is hosted by industry veteran and media executive Bill Werde, director of the Bandier Music Industry Program in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication at Syracuse University.
