Belle And Sebastian Welcome You Aboard For ‘The Boaty Weekend’

Are you up for an ocean adventure with Belle and Sebastian?  The Scottish band wants to take you on a four-day cruise come August 2019.

A statement saying it’s “a new take” on the band’s weekend music festival details the joys and thrills of boating with Belle and Sebastian.

“We have got our hands on quite a large boat, and we’re loading it up with some ace groups for a four-day sail round the Med.  Welcome to The Boaty Weekender: our new take on an old classic, The Bowlie Weekender.  Join us August 8-12, 2019 on the beautiful Norwegian Jade as we depart from Barcelona and make our way to Cagliari, Sardinia, to spend some time on dry land with you beautiful groovers.”

The message adds that the cruise will include “yoga, cocktails, club nights, themed balls, crèches, quizzes, Scrabble tournaments, and gigs spread out over five stages.

Although a lineup hasn’t been announced, Belle and Sebastian promise to deliver “two unique performances,” along with an intimate live conversation with band members and activities involving each musician.  The first 350 staterooms will witness the first-ever Belle and Sebastian start-to-finish performance of the group’s 2000 album, Fold Your Hands Child, You Walk Like A Peasant.

“The Boaty Weekend” is made possible via a partnership involving Belle and Sebastian, music cruise outfit Sixthman, and AEG Presents.  The cruise will mark the 20th anniversary of Belle and Sebastian’s “Bowlie Weekender” fest.
