Holy Ship 2019: A-Trak, Claude VonStroke, Snails, Zeds Dead To Set Sail In January
Holy Ship will set sail twice in January for its “12.0” and “13.0” installments, presented in collaboration between HARD Events, Cloud 9 Adventures and The Bowery Presents.
Featured artists include 12th Planet, AC Slater, A-Trak, Bob Moses, Chris Lake, Claude VonStroke, Ekali, Fisher, Green Velvet, Gorgon City, GRiZ, Jai Wolf, Jauz, Justin Martin, Louis The Child, Malaa, Mercer, NGHTMRE, Nicole Moudaber, Rezz, Seven Lions, Slander, Tchami, The Black Madonna, Zeds Dead, ZHU, and Whethan, among the many electronic artists on the bill.
Norwegian Cruise Line will once again host ShipFam aboard the luxurious Norwegian Epic, with the four-night 12.0 sailing Jan. 5-9 immediately followed by the three-night 13.0 sailing Jan. 9-12.
Additional notable artists on the extensive lineup include dubstep duo Joyryde, Troyboi as well as both Marbs and Mikey Lion of the DJ foursome known as Desert Hearts.
Each of the Holy Ship! 2019 sailings will depart from Port Canaveral and chart a course to the Bahamas, with official pre-parties to be announced. While aboard, Holy Ship promises theme nights, artist-led activities, and rare back-to-back sets.
The itinerary for 12.0 includes two days at Great Stirrup Cay, famed for its private island parties, followed by a day at sea, before heading home.
Holy Ship 13.0 will feature a full day of sailing upon the open seas and a one-day party stop at Great Stirrup Cay before heading home.
Holy Ship 12.0 and 13.0 come after the departure of founder Gary Richards, also known as the DJ Destructo, who made the transition from Hard Events to president of LiveStyle North America.
Richards told Pollstar in March, after passes to his debut Friendship Cruise sold out in less than 48 hours, that it was time for a change.
“I guess it’s just you move on,” Richards said. “You create something and … it’s kind of like a baby. You have a baby [or a plant] and you nurture it and you water it and it grows. It goes off to college and (laughs) flies from the nest. And I guess for me, I can’t really look back. I’m just looking forward to creating new babies and just trying to make them better and fresher. It feels like it was just time for a change, so I’ll just leave it at that. “
The Friendship lineup has not been announced yet, but is to sail from Miami to The Bahamas Dec. 11-18.
The 2019 Holy Ships are also interesting in that Hard Events, which was acquired by Live Nation in 2012, is collaborating with AEG subsidiary The Bowery Presents. With the two rival worldwide promoters acquiring so many formerly independents, there are occasional co-promotes between the two, such as on Pink’s current “Beautiful Trauma” tour where the Live Nation tour lists Barrie Marshall’s Marshall Arts as well as AEG Presents as co-promoter on many dates.
This January’s Holy Ship included Kaskade, A-Trak, Claude VonStroke, and many others.
