Most recently Mac Miller hit festivals hard, with appearances at international events like Lollapaloozas in Brazil (which reported 300,000 tickets sold and $23.4 million grossed), Chile and Argentina earlier this year and last year at Listen Out in Australia, Open’er in Poland, as well as Stateside events from Float Fest in Texas to Coachella in Indio, Calif.
Boxoffice reports submitted to Pollstar from Mac’s last headline dates in winter 2016 dates included sellouts at Terminal 5 in New York, House of Blues Boston, MTELUS in Montreal and Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa, Okla.
Joining Miller for all dates on The Swimming Tour are previous Pollstar Hotstar artist Thundercat, known for his quirky sense of humor and jazz-bass prowess, and rising rapper J.I.D.
J.I.D, on arena-headlining rapper J Cole’s Dreamville label, is represented by ICM Partners, and Urban Division partner Robert Gibbs previously told Pollstar J.I.D was selling out clubs across the country with labelmates Earthgang.
“J.I.D and Earthgang are playing everywhere from El Paso, Texas, to Salt Lake City – to Minneapolis, to Calgary, Alberta,” said Gibbs, who also represents J Cole. “So when we talk about hip-hop hitting markets and growing, these guys are a prime example.”
