HARD Events Enters The Record Business With New Compilation
The EDM mainstay HARD Events has announced the launch of its own record label in advance of its 2018 flagship event.
The first release from the new label, HARD Rec, will be HARD Summer Compilation, which will feature exclusive tracks from SAYMYNAME, Ducky, Krane, Sage Armstrong & Omnom, Bear Grillz and Kai Wachi, many of whom are playing this year’s event. The compilation also features tunes from Dillon Francis, Zeds Dead & Jauz, Getter, Valentino Khan, and many more.
The compilation is available here.
HARD Events’ best known shindigs are HARD Summer Music Festival, to stage Aug. 4-5 in Fontana, Calif., and Holy Ship!, which is running two back-to-back voyages next year, from Jan. 5-8 and Jan. 9-13. They are also staging Hard Red Rocks at the famous Morrison, Colo., amphitheatre Aug. 2, with DJ Snake, Virtual Self, Mija and more.
The company was formerly helmed by Gary Richards, who departed to become president of LiveStyle North America last year. HARD was acquired by Live Nation in 2012.
Live Nation has faced numerous lawsuits over the drug-related deaths of young people at various HARD Summer events, and the festival has become a scapegoat in some organizations’ crusade against drug use at festivals.
