Nashville-based artist manager brothers Scott McGhee and Doc McGhee have officially wound up their partnership, with Scott McGhee launching his own 1 Degree Entertainment Music & Management Group and “business as usual” for McGhee Entertainment under Doc McGhee.
“We were a good team; our skill sets complemented one another,” longtime KISS manager Doc McGhee said in a statement. “Together, we led the way to expand international touring opportunities and lent assistance to piece the puzzle to celebrate Darius Rucker’s success in becoming the only solo artist with a No. 1 single in another format. I’m proud of the work we’ve done. Our separation is spawned merely by personal and professional objectives, maturity and growth.”
With offices located in L.A. and Nashville, the 40-year-old McGhee Entertainment will continue “business as usual,” with Doc McGhee continuing to concentrate on the McGhee roster of rock acts and corresponding live events and tours, as well as direct time and attention to film and television development/production ventures. An autobiography is also forecasted.
Clients for McGhee Entertainment are KISS, Ted Nugent, Vintage Trouble, Caleb Johnson and Jesse Jane McParland.
Scott McGhee moves forward with the launch of new company 1 Degree Entertainment Music & Management Group, where artist management will remain his core business.  The company’s management clients are Love And Theft, A Thousand Horses, The Dead Deads, and Down.

“Our objective is to find new and innovative opportunities for our artists over the course of his or her entire career,” Scott McGhee stated. “We don’t want to just provide a service; we will offer new business strategies tailored to suit each one of our clients. The goal is to canvas the artists’ careers through development in the early days to maintaining relevance, viability and longevity for years to come. Our team will incorporate our mutual experience into a business strategy that is in keeping with the ever-changing environment.”
“Very simply,” Scott McGhee says, “If you owned or managed a football team, what’s the strategy? We find the best talent that is the right fit; assemble the best team around them; design a great game plan…and then…we coach our ass off!”
