Michael McDonald Adds Solo Xmas Shows To North American Tour

In celebration of a new holiday-themed compilation album, Michael McDonald has added several winter dates to his North American tour. 

McDonald confirms two nights in Los Angeles at the Hollywood Bowl with Kenny Loggins and Christopher Cross, as well as shows in N.Y.’s South Street Seaport, Washington D.C.’s Filene Center at Wolf Trap with Peter Cetera, St. Louis’ Loufest, the Cityfolk Festival in Ottawa and others. McDonald also includes 10 solo performances at Café Carlyle in N.Y.C. from Oct. 23 through Nov. 3. 

Set to release on Oct. 12 via BMG Records, Season of Peace: The Christmas Collection includes McDonald’s new recording of “Winter Wonderland,” featuring Jake Shimabukuro. The album also features McDonald’s classic Christmas records such as “White Christmas/Winter Wonderland” featuring Jonny Lang, “Oh Holy Night,” “Christmas on the Bayou” and “Children Go Where I Send Thee” featuring Twinkie Clark. 

The new dates go along with previously announced McDonald dates including Sept. 22 at Boston’s Emerson Colonial Theatre, Ryman Auditorium in Nashville Nov. 21, the Capitol Theatre in Clearwater, Fla., Nov. 23 and others stretching into mid-December.

Recent Michael McDonald boxoffice reports submitted to Pollstar include May 13 at the Count Basie center for the Arts in New Jersey, which sold 1,014 tickets and grossed $76,579; the Eventim Apollo in London March 15 (3,327, $234,184) and Feb 27. A the Barbara B Mann. Performing Arts Hall in Fort Myers, Fla., which sold 1,759 tickets and grossed $97,320.
