Maroon 5 Taking Red Pill Blues Worldwide: Australia, Asia, Europe
Maroon 5 has announced international dates for its Red Pill Blues tour, with Australia, Asia and Europe beginning in February and running into June. The new legs on the Live Nation-produced tour include opener Sigrid on select dates.
Maroon 5 returns to the road Sept. 7 at Vivint Smart Home Arena Salt Lake City for the second leg of the Red Pill Blues U.S. tour with Julia Michaels on support. That leg wraps Oct. 15 at Madison Square Garden Arena in New York City.
The band is also set to return to Las Vegas for its annual New Year’s Eve shows at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino Dec. 30-31.
The Australia and Asia dates (with venues TBA) are in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne Feb. 19-22 and then Tokyo, Seoul, Taiwan, Macau, Singapore and Bangkok Feb. 25 through March 9. After that, the European dates run June 1-11, with venues including Lanxess Arena in Cologne, O2 Arena in Prague, Ziggo Dome in The Netherlands and Accorhotels Arena in Paris.
Boxoffice reports from the first leg of the North American tour include June 10 at the Toyota Center in Houston, which sold 10,799 tickets and grossed just shy of $1.3 million, two shows at the Forum in Inglewood, Calif., June 4-5 (25,385 tickets, $2.44 million) and June 2 at the Golden One Center in Sacramento, Calif., which sold 12,997 tickets and grossed $1.47 million.
The Adam Levine-fronted band has been on tour for parts of the last few years, charting at No. 17 on Pollstar’s 2016 Year End Top 100 Tours with 853,637 ticket sold worldwide, No. 13 in 2015 with 871,493, and No. 57 in 2013 with 444,478 tickets.
