Live Nation Reveals Opening Shows for Met Philadelphia

Live Nation’s The Met Philadelphia, the new venue for live performance on North Broad Street, unveiled its initial run of shows today, starting with a Dec. 3 opening night concert by Bob Dylan.

The announcement was made by Live Nation Philadelphia President Geoff Gordon at the Divine Lorraine Hotel, with Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney among those on hand. In connecting The Met’s past with its future, several performers from Opera Philadelphia, performed “God Bless America” during the big reveal. 

The Met Philadelphia’s initial schedule also includes Weezer Dec. 12, Ween Dec. 14, Lindsey Stirling Dec. 18, WDAS Holiday Jam with Charlie Wilson Dec. 22, PnB Rock Dec. 28,

The new venue is a $56 million restoration project of the historic Philadelphia Opera House by Live Nation with developer Eric Blumenfeld that will showcase the ongoing North Broad Street renaissance.  The original structure was built by Oscar Hammerstein in 1908 and was once the largest theater in the world.
